Residential Rates

October is Public Power Month. Did you know, Nebraska is the only state in the country where all residents get electricity from public power utilities or cooperatives???j

Residential service rates apply to houses, trailers, single-family dwellings, apartments or farms with one residence. These are the two most common residential rates. 

Rate 110 – Residential Service

This rate applies to all residential dwellings.



Service Charge: $25.00/month
Summer (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • 10.06 cents/kWh for all kWh
  • For kWh consumption more than 100 kWh and less than 401 kWh, a credit of $2.07 per month will be applied
Winter (Oct. 1 – May 31)
  • 9.29 cents/kWh for the first 100 kWh
  • 8.03 cents/kWh for the next 900 kWh
  • 5.67 cents/kWh for all additional kWh

    Minimum Monthly Bill: $27.07

 

Rate 115 – Residential Conservation

This rate applies to residential dwellings using a heat pump with a minimum of 14 SEER and that heat pump must supply at least 50% of space-heating requirements.

Service Charge: $25.00/month

Summer (June 1 – Sept. 30)
  • 10.06 cents/kWh for all kWh
  • For kWh consumption more than 100 kWh and less than 401 kWh, a credit of $2.07 per month will be applied
Winter (Oct. 1 – May 31)
  • 9.29 cents/kWh for the first 100 kWh
  • 8.03 cents/kWh for the next 780 kWh
  • 4.64 cents/kWh for all additional kWh

    Minimum Monthly Bill: $27.07

Rate 470 – Consumer Service Charges
OPPD’s rates include charges for specific services. Each service is listed and explained in this section.

Rate 461 – Fuel and Purchased Power Adjustment (FPPA)
The provisions of Rate 461 Fuel and Purchase Power Adjustment apply to all rate schedules. This adjustment is made to reflect changes in the fuel and purchased power expenses above or below the Fuel and Purchased Power Base Rate.

Reconnection Charges
A Minimum Monthly Charge will be incurred for customers who terminate service with OPPD, then re-establish the same service within one year. This is most likely to occur in seasonal homes/cabins and does not apply if another customer takes over the service during the interim time-period.
